The Friends of Suzanne dinner at Jar is a one-night celebration of the restaurant’s 25th anniversary, and Silverton is one of five guest chefs joining Tracht. The others are Josiah Citrin, Suzanne Goin, Raphael Lunetta and Sherry Yard.
Dinner starts at 6:00 p.m. at 8225 Beverly Blvd. Tickets are $265 per person for the menu, with fees and gratuities extra and beverages not included. Part of the evening’s sales benefits Stop the Void.

Five chefs, one kitchen
The release lists the guests with their restaurants: Josiah Citrin of Mélisse, Suzanne Goin of A.O.C., Raphael Lunetta of Lunetta, Nancy Silverton of Osteria Mozza and Sherry Yard. Yard is the author of Secrets of Baking and Desserts by the Yard, and she opened her shop, Bakery by the Yard, in 2021, according to the Culinary Institute of America.

She describes the dinner as a night about friendship, gratitude and gathering around the table, with colleagues cooking in her kitchen for the guests who have been part of Jar’s story. Los Angeles magazine reports that Tracht planned the dinner to close out the anniversary celebrations. The release does not publish a menu or say which chef cooks which course.

What JAR is known for
JAR opened in September 2001 on Beverly Boulevard, founded by Tracht and chef de cuisine Preech Narkthong. The dining room is retro-modern, and the release describes a 1940s supper club mood and a comforting, refined American menu. On a regular night that means the pot roast, Kansas City steak, wild and sustainable fish, lemon grass chicken, black mussels with lobster béarnaise and fennel salt, and French fries the release calls award-winning. Market-fresh sides and martinis fill out the list.
Twenty-five years is a long run on a competitive restaurant row. The release says the Los Angeles Times named JAR to its Hall of Fame Restaurants in 2023, and that Food and Wine named Tracht one of America’s Best New Chefs in 2002.
The cause behind the dinner
A portion of the evening’s sales benefits Stop the Void, which the release describes as a nonprofit that is meaningful to everyone involved. It is also known as Victims of Illicit Drugs, or V.O.I.D., a California organization that works to prevent deaths from illicit fentanyl and other synthetic drugs through education, advocacy and awareness. The release does not say what share of sales goes to the nonprofit.
