Centro del Vino Concha y Toro, the visitor complex that Chilean winemaker Concha y Toro opened in July 2025 in Pirque, has been named South America’s Leading Tourism Winery 2026 at the World Travel Awards.
The award was announced October 11 at the Caribbean & The Americas Gala Ceremony at the Princess Grand Jamaica resort.
Centro del Vino won on the highest number of votes from visitors across multiple countries, placing it ahead of wine tourism destinations in Chile, Argentina and Uruguay. The winery is also nominated for the global title, World’s Leading Tourism Winery 2026, with voting open through October 30.
What visitors find in Pirque
The complex is more than 12,000 square meters, about 20 kilometers from Santiago. Visitors move through immersive experiences, audiovisual installations and heritage pieces that trace the origins and evolution of Chilean wine. The centerpiece is El Origen de una Leyenda (The Origin of a Legend), which ends in the historic underground Casillero del Diablo cellar.
At opening, coverage described a 120-minute guided tour in Spanish, English and Portuguese, with food and wine at the Bodega 1883 restaurant and the Gran Barra wine bar. Marca Chile says the venue has hosted artists including Dua Lipa, Bad Bunny and Aurora in its first year.
The recognition so far
The release lists earlier honors. The Casillero del Diablo night experience was named Chile’s best wine tourism experience in 2024, and El Origen de una Leyenda took first place for exhibitions and museography at the 2025 Chile Design Awards. The winery has held Preferred by Nature Sustainable Tourism Certification since 2022.
Isabel Guilisasti, Vice President of Fine Wines and Corporate Image, said the award shows Chile can build world-class experiences that connect with visitors from around the world. She thanked the visitors who voted.
