Perry’s Fine Wines & Liquors Unveils Exclusive New Chardonnay In Collaboration with Palm Springs Art Museum
Perry’s Fine Wines & Liquors is proud to announce the release of its new Chardonnay, created in support of Palm Springs Art Museum.
Launched to celebrate the union of fine wine and fine art in Palm Springs and the wider Coachella Valley, Perry’s will donate $1 from each bottle sold to Palm Springs Art Museum to support their incredible work here in the community.
The new Perry’s Chardonnay is more than just a bottle of wine; it’s a work of art itself. The label showcases stunning photography, specially selected from the Museum’s archive, by Stephen H. Willard, celebrated for his striking depictions of the desert landscape that perfectly encapsulate the natural beauty of the region.
Perry’s Co-Owner Charlie Greener’s journey in the wine industry began with his first job at the Robert Mondavi Winery, an experience that opened his eyes to the beauty of wine and the philosophy of celebrating its connection to art and food.
“My time there in Napa left an indelible impression on me”.
Charlie Greener
Perry’s Co-Owner
Years later, he and his husband, Co-Owner Billy Marshall, left their corporate careers to take over Perry’s wine retail business in Provincetown, MA—home to the nation’s oldest continuous artist colony.
Their passion for the arts led them to launch Perry’s Rosé, a wine celebrating the intersection of fine wine and art on Cape Cod. Designed by a Provincetown Arts Association and Museum (PAAM) member artist, the label reflects this deep connection, with Perry’s donating $1 from each bottle sold to support PAAM’s work. In 2024, Perry’s expanded to Palm Springs, bringing their commitment to artistic collaboration to the West Coast through a new partnership with the Palm Springs Art Museum, continuing their mission of blending wine, culture, and community.
California in a Glass:
With the opening of their new store in Palm Springs, Greener and Marshall set out to create a wine that showcases the best of California while complementing the relaxed West Coast lifestyle.
The new Perry’s Chardonnay captures this essence perfectly. Made from organic grapes grown in Mendocino County, it offers a beautifully balanced profile—crisp and fresh, yet rounded and textured, with remarkable depth and complexity. Its elegant and bright acidity makes it an ideal companion for Palm Springs living, whether enjoyed poolside or paired with a variety of dishes. Versatile and refined, it shines alongside charcuterie, fish, and poultry, or simply as a refreshing glass shared in the sunshine with good company.
The Best of Californian Farming & Craftsmanship:
The Grapes: The Perry’s Chardonnay grapes are grown on the Hawkeye Ranch, located on the upper reaches of the Russian River, nestled in the coastal mountains of Mendocino County. Farmed for five generations by the Johnson family, the lush, fertile valley soil, coupled with warm summer days and coastally influenced cool evenings make it a special place to grow beautifully balanced grapes with complex flavor and bright acidity.
The Winemaking: The wine is lovingly made by Jumbo Time Wines, a superb Los Angeles and Sonoma-based natural winery, making world-class, low-intervention wines that truly hero the work of the local farmers behind the grapes. The Perry’s Chardonnay grapes are whole cluster pressed and fermented in stainless steel before being transferred to inert old oak barrels and aged on the lees for six months before being bottled un-fined & un-filtered.
Tasting Notes: The result is a beautifully clean & crisp white coupled with rounded texture. On the nose there are notes of honeysuckle, banana peel and freshly cut citrus blossoms. On the palate the wine balances both a textured richness and a thirst-quenching brightness, showcasing notes of white nectarine and jasmine tea complemented by layers of floral and tropical flavors.
About Perry’s – A Legacy of Community and of Life Well-Lived:
Perry’s Fine Wines & Liquors has been a cornerstone of Provincetown, Cape Cod, MA, since 1934. Known for its exceptional service, curated selection, and deep commitment to the community, Perry’s continues to build on the legacy of its founder, Bert Perry. With the opening of Perry’s in Palm Springs in 2024, the business now embarks on a new chapter, bringing the same ethos to a new audience, here on the west coast. Though nearly 3,000 miles separate Provincetown and Palm Springs, their similarities – a spirit of escapism, incredible natural beauty, community, and the pursuit of the good life – are striking, all of which made Palm Springs the perfect location to expand the business to.
