The LA Art Show 2027 is making room for a new generation of art collectors. When the fair returns to the Los Angeles Convention Center from January 6 to 10, a new companion event will give visitors access to contemporary artwork priced at $10,000 or less.
The debut of Art Under 10 is one of several changes planned for the LA Art Show’s 32nd edition. More than 90 exhibitors are expected, with galleries arriving from Europe, Asia, Mexico and across the United States.
The fair has also named GLAAD as its new charity partner, committing 15% of ticket proceeds to the nonprofit’s work supporting LGBTQ acceptance and representation.
For art buyers, the most notable change may be the chance to explore established international galleries and emerging artists during the same visit.
Art Under 10 Opens a New Door for Collectors
Art Under 10 will debut January 8 to 10 in Petree Hall, next to the LA Art Show’s main exhibition space.
Produced by Fine Art Shows, the new fair focuses on emerging galleries and contemporary artwork created within the past five years. Every work presented will be priced at $10,000 or less.
The price ceiling gives prospective buyers a defined range to explore. It also gives smaller galleries a dedicated setting to introduce artists to people who may be considering their first major art purchase.
Admission to Art Under 10 is included with LA Art Show tickets.
Kassandra Voyagis, producer and executive director of LA Art Show, described the addition as a way to make contemporary art more approachable for first-time buyers.
For collectors, however, price is only one part of the decision. Learning about an artist’s background, exhibition record and body of work remains important. Art Under 10 creates a setting for those conversations to begin.
GLAAD Named New Charity Partner for 2027
The LA Art Show is adding a charitable component to its 2027 edition through a new partnership with GLAAD.
The nonprofit works to advance LGBTQ acceptance and representation across media. Under the agreement, 15% of ticket proceeds will benefit the organization.
The partnership also extends to the fair’s Opening Night Premiere on Wednesday, January 6.
The evening is scheduled to include fine art, entertainment and food and beverages from Los Angeles restaurants.
The partnership connects the fair’s international art program with GLAAD’s work in media representation, bringing another cultural institution into the organization’s fundraising efforts.
More Than 90 Galleries From Around the World
The 2027 edition will bring together returning exhibitors and galleries making their first LA Art Show appearance.
Returning galleries include Rebecca Hossack Art Gallery and Pontone from the United Kingdom, JS Gallery from Greece, Pigment Gallery from Spain, and New York’s Rehs Galleries and Arcadia Contemporary.
California will be represented by Markowicz Fine Art, Bruce Lurie and MRG Fine Art, among others.
New participants include Bluerider ART from Taipei, CRIA from Mexico, Nisticovich Gallery from Tel Aviv, Kaibi Gallery from Japan and Avant Gallery from Miami.
This international mix gives collectors access to galleries operating in different art markets without traveling between cities.
DIVERSEartLA Explores the Future Through Collaboration
The fair’s non-commercial DIVERSEartLA platform returns with a new theme: “The Future as a Collaborative Human Experience.”
Curator Marisa Caichiolo will lead the program, following her co-curatorial role for Chile’s official pavilion at the 61st Venice Art Biennale.
The 2027 program will bring together cultural institutions and professionals from fields including architecture, design, law and visual art.
Rather than focus on individual artworks for sale, DIVERSEartLA will present installations and exhibition environments that explore how people from different disciplines imagine the future together.
The program provides a different experience from the gallery booths, with attention centered on ideas and cultural exchange rather than purchases.
