In early November 2019, tragedy struck when two children were killed during a school shooting in the Santa Clarita Valley. Many businesses jumped in to offer support using hashtag:
To many, this was the worst event in our city’s history, and our community rallied together quickly. Some of the restaurants, bars, wine bars and wineries held fundraisers.
These are just a few that shared their past and upcoming efforts:
Pulchella Winery and Tasting Room
Our first winery and tasting room in downtown Newhall may have been the first to step forward and offer their sales from their wines, over the course of three days – their busiest as they were weekend days – to #SaugusStrong. Their social media post, which received dozens of comments, shares and reposts, read,
“IT’S BEEN THAT KIND OF WEEK.
After the kind of week we’ve all had in SCV, this is the glass of wine we all need!
Come take the edge off while supporting a good cause —
100 percent of our sales this weekend will be donated to the victims and families of Saugus High School. Come show some love.”

The restaurant also plans on having a day in support of Saugus Strong in January with live music from the band, Future X Husbands, who have members from the Saugus faculty in their group. Additionally, they will be donating a percentage of proceeds from the entire day to the fund, the date of this event is to be determined.

They had a great turn out and owner Tanya Green was able to write the Santa Clarita coalition a check for $1,600.
