New Regency acquires ‘Fixation’ erotic thriller in sizzling deal with Emmy Award–winning producer Bruna Papandrea

This acquisition builds on New Regency’s recent momentum, which includes securing Stephen Herman’s They’re Still Here with Phantom Four (Antlers) and Good Fear (Mulan), expanding its executive team with Tesha Crawford (EVP, Head of International Television) and Colin Greten (VP of Film), and a slate of buzzy projects.

Upcoming highlights include Blood Meridian (dir. John Hillcoat, written by John Logan), Ubisoft’s Watch Dogs starring Tom Blyth and Sophie Wilde, and Psycho Killer starring Georgina Campbell.

Additional recent and upcoming titles include Oscar winner Steve McQueen’s Blitz (Apple TV+); The Bikeriders (Focus Features), untitled Elon Musk documentary from Alex Gibney (HBO); 2073, directed by Academy Award winner Asif Kapadia; and Jimi, a Jimi Hendrix documentary from Emmy nominee Bao Nguyen.

New Regency’s television projects include the Emmy-winning Mr. & Mrs. Smith (returning for Season 2 on Prime Video), a Malcolm in the Middle limited series (Disney), Man on Fire (Netflix), and Prime Target starring Leo Woodall (Apple TV+).

This marks the second collaboration between Emmy Award–winning producer Bruna Papandrea and New Regency, following their partnership on David Fincher’s Academy Award–nominated Gone Girl.

It also represents the second collaboration between Papandrea and New Regency’s Nirokhi Raychaudhuri, who previously served as creative executive at Netflix on the buzzy Luckiest Girl Alive.

Written by Erika Vázquez and Siena Butterfield (Wednesday), the spec script centers on a couple’s therapist who is drawn into a dangerous triangle of lust, lies, and manipulation. Plot details remain under wraps, with the script promising plenty of twists and turns.

Papandrea, Steve Hutensky, Jeanne Snow, and Claudia Park will produce for Made Up Stories.

Writer’s reps: Josh Goldenberg, Quincie Li (Kaplan/Perrone) | Jonathan Martin (Gersh)
