Executive Chef and Owner Calogero Drago knows how to celebrate New Year’s Eve and this year is no exception at Celestino Ristorante!

The last meal of 2019 is going to be everything one could wish for and more with a special Four-Course New Year’s Eve Prix-Fixe Menu.

Start the evening off with the Antipasto which offers a choice of Tortellini di Carne in Brodo di Cappone, veal tortellini in a Capon broth, or the Carpaccio di Capesante con Melograno, Arance, e Lattughe Valeriana featuring scallop carpaccio with pomegranate, orange, and mâché lettuce.

The Pasta e Ravioli course presents Agnolotti Bianchi e Neri con Gamberetti e Salsa d’Aragosta, black and white ravioli stuffed with shrimp in a lobster sauce, or Torchietti di Pasta Con Ragu di Cinghiale, Maccheroni Trafilati with wild boar ragu. The creation of this special Bloody Mary began over 20 years ago when Wickerman first began bartending at Chez Jay and set out to create a classic cocktail that guests would enjoy and come back for over and over again. After years of testing and trying, Wickie’s Bloody Good Bloody Mary Mix was born!

Wickerman’s handcrafted mix is made up of 11 ingredients including freshly ground red hot chili peppers, Worcestershire sauce, horseradish, lemon juice, black and white pepper, celery salt, and more.

Guests can settle in and savor this day by starting with an Antipasti E Insalate including the Cozze e Vongole, with mussels and clams, tomato broth and garlic bread, the Carpaccio di Bue, made of beef carpaccio, shaved Parmesan cheese, and mustard dressing, or the Brushetta Con Avocado on a toasted Ciabatta topped with avocado puree, boiled eggs and pickled vegetables.

The Salads are both beautiful and bountiful with selections such as the Mele e Indivia, prepared with Pink Lady apples, smoked bacon, candied walnuts, frisse, lettuce, and Champagne Vinaigrette, or the Pollo, with poached chicken, snow peas, baby carrots, Belgium endive, toasted pine nuts and a dill mustard dressing. Continue the indulgence with an Entrée such as the Executive Chef Gil Saulnier’s Prime Delmonico New York, featuring a bone-in 18 oz. steak with fresh shitake mushrooms, Napa Cabernet demi glaze, and Chef’s special potatoes, or the Chilean Sea Bass served with creamy Reggiano risotto and topped with French black truffle.

Swirl some Tagliatelle con Gamberi,made of spinach tagliatelle pasta with grilled prawns and jumbo shrimp tossed in a black pepper cognac cream sauce with julienne of carrots, celery and asparagus.

Being that New Year’s Day is also National Bloody Mary Day, it is only right to kick things off by enjoying the Mi Piace Classic Bloody Mary, comprised of Absolut vodka, house-made spicy Bloody Mary mix, celery salted rim, and crisp celery stalk garnish.

Commence the meal with the Crostini con Ricotta; a handmade fresh lemon zest ricotta cheese with extra virgin olive oil, herbs, and fleur de Sel, served with grilled ciabatta crostini, or the Carpaccio, made of paper thin sliced raw prime beef filet topped with arugula, shaved Reggiano, capers, and honey dry mustard vinaigrette. Enjoy and share a handmade pasta like the Pork Ragu Pappardelle, prepared with slow braised Moroccan spiced pork ragu topped with a homemade lemon zest ricotta and a touch of Fleur de Sel, or the Gnocchi di Spinachi e Ricotta, made with spinach and goat cheese gnocchi with roasted ricotta in a caramelized garlic and basil marinara sauce.

For something a little more savory try the Vitello alla Milanese, which is a breaded, pounded, sautéed 16 ounce veal chop with a demi-glace lemon parsley sauce, served with arugula salad with buffalo mozzarella and cherry tomatoes, tossed in an Italian dressing, or the Pollo al Prezzemolo, with Mary’s Free-Range organic grilled half chicken stuffed with fresh herbs in a caramelized garlic, parsley, lemon, butter sauce, accompanied with mashed potatoes and fresh vegetables.
