Harry Morton, the restauranteur best known for establishing L.A.’s Pink Taco, has passed on. He was 38.
The L.A. District Sheriff’s Department affirmed that Morton passed on at his dwelling Saturday evening and the Beverly Hills Police Department is exploring. As per TMZ, Morton was discovered lethargic in his Beverly Hills home by a relative and was articulated dead by paramedics who landed on the scene. No injustice is suspected, as per the report.
Pink Taco released an announcement regarding Morton’s passing.
“We are saddened by the passing of Harry Morton, the founder and former owner of Pink Taco,” it reads. “Harry was a visionary and restaurateur ahead of his time, and his contributions, both professionally to our brand and personally to those he worked with, were numerous. Our thoughts and condolences are with his family and friends during this difficult time.”
Morton originated from a group of restaurateurs. His dad, Peter Morton, helped to establish the Hard Rock Cafe, and Harry’s granddad, Arnie Morton, established Morton’s Steakhouse.
Harry Morton established Pink Taco in 1999 when he was 18. He likewise bought the Viper Room, where Joaquin Phoenix’s sibling River Phoenix died of an overdose in 1993, in 2008. In a 2013 survey of the notorious scene after it was rethought, Variety’s Whitney Friedlander composed that “Morton and his team are finding ways to prove the club is still a central music destination in Los Angeles, while also adding some sleek, modern touches.”
Morton as of late stood out as truly newsworthy for obtaining the Elvis Presley estate in Beverly Hills for $25.5 million. As per the L.A. Times, the property had been recently possessed by Morton’s dad for around two years. The senior Morton sold the property in 2014 for $14.5 million.
