Meet Executive Chef Kristin Puttkamer

Born and raised in Boston, Chef Kristin Puttkamer’s journey to Palm Springs is as bold and unexpected as her flavors. After earning her degree from New York University and working in the finance world at Goldman Sachs, Puttkamer embarked on a cross-country biking adventure that changed her life — and led her to the West Coast.

Trading boardrooms for kitchens, she followed her passion for food to The Culinary Institute of America in St. Helena, where she trained under Michelin Star chefs at State Bird and Darioush Winery. There, she honed her love for local, seasonal, and globally inspired cuisine — an approach that shines brightly in her work at Canopy Wine Lounge.

“Cooking for me is about connection,”

says Chef Puttkamer.

“It’s about honoring ingredients, telling a story, and creating something that pairs perfectly with the wines that bring people together.”

A Menu That Dances with the Seasons

Chef Puttkamer’s Fall Menu is a vibrant celebration of California’s agricultural bounty, crafted with an emphasis on freshness, sustainability, and flavor harmony.

Highlights include:

  • Fried Green Tomatoes – Crispy, golden, and topped with locally sourced greens and bright citrus notes.

  • Tartines on Five-Year Sourdough – Chef Puttkamer’s own artisanal bread, nurtured from a starter she’s perfected over five years.

  • Handmade Potato Cakes with Dungeness Crab – Layered with Old Bay remoulade and pickled leeks, delivering comfort and sophistication in every bite.

Each dish is designed to pair seamlessly with Canopy’s extensive wine selection, ensuring every meal becomes an experience — not just a moment.
