Gerard Butler is taking action, hosting a fundraiser to benefit the Malibu Fire Relief after his own home was burned to the ground in the devastating California fires.
The 300 star has invited his A-list friends to his West Hollywood home for the cause, hoping to raise at least $1 million for fire relief.
“Gerard was lucky that just his house burned, and he wants to make sure to help everyone that is doing so much for the community,” says a friend.
“Returned to my house in Malibu after evacuating. Heartbreaking time across California,” Butler said after the flames of the Woolsey fire ravaged his Point Dume home.
Multiple celebrities lost their homes in the fire, including Miley Cyrus who has vowed to rebuild on the same property, Nick Nolte Camille Grammer, Robin Thicke and April Love Geary, Neil Young and soap star Tracey Bregman.
“Gerard has reached out to all of his celeb friends to give what they can, he has a huge heart.”
“Inspired as ever by the courage, spirit and sacrifice of firefighters. Thank you @LosAngelesFireDepartment,” Butler wrote on his Instagram page. “If you can, support these brave men and women at www.SupportLAFD.org.”
