SiriusXM announced today that Bob Lefsetz, outspoken music and culture writer, will host Lefsetz Live!, a new weekly talk show on the Volume channel, talk radio devoted to the discussion of music, the industry and the world beyond.
Lefsetz is the author of The Lefsetz Letter, an independently produced email newsletter and blog about music and culture that has been published for over 25 years. Lefsetz Live! will take a page from Lefsetz’s influential column with free-ranging thoughts and a brutally honest approach at examining the music industry, while delivering a weekly live, interactive show. Lefsetz will take calls from listeners and invite fans and industry notables in on the discussions of exploring the issues at the core of the music business—from streaming to new tech, to emerging artists and trends, and the music itself. This one-hour weekly program will kick off on Tuesday, September 11, at 7 pm ET / 4 pm PT.
“I’ve been a fan of satellite radio since day one; I never listen to terrestrial EVER,” said Bob Lefsetz. “It’s a thrill to be on the SiriusXM Volume channel and interact with like-minded music fans to get to the heart of what’s going on in this cacophonous world we live in. The public doesn’t pull any punches, and neither will I!”
“Bob is one of the most influential writers about pop culture, tech, media and the music industry, and how it all is intertwined in today’s world,” said Scott Greenstein, President and Chief Content Officer SiriusXM. “With Lefsetz Live!, Bob will share his outspoken, unpredictable and contrarian point of view on the culture of popular music with our passionate SiriusXM listeners who want to hear the inside story of the music.”
Lefsetz Live! is the latest influential guest-curated program to be added to the Volume channel, home of talk-radio that is all about the world of music and its fans. Lefsetz Live! will air weekly on Tuesdays at 7 pm ET (4 pm PT) on Volume channel 106, and those with streaming access can listen online, on-the-go with the SiriusXM mobile app and at home on a wide variety of connected devices including smart TVs, Amazon Alexa devices, Apple TV, PlayStation, Roku, Sonos speakers and more.
