Nearly two decades after first visiting\u00a0St. Jude Children\u2019s Research Hospital<\/a>\u00ae\u00a0where he was immediately inspired to pledge his support,\u00a0CMA Humanitarian of the Year<\/a>\u00a0Darius Rucker continues to give back, surpassing the $4.3 million mark with this year\u2019s 15th annual \u201cDarius and Friends\u201d benefit concert on Monday night, June 3, which was paired with a corresponding celebrity golf tournament yesterday, June 4.<\/p>\n

This year\u2019s event alone raised an all-time high of $715,000 for the cause.<\/p>\n

Sold out well in advance despite the three-time GRAMMY winner\u2019s famous friends not being revealed until they took the stage, the unofficial kickoff to CMA Fest praised by the\u00a0Tennessean\u00a0<\/em>for offering \u201cmultiple servings of the country music industry’s past, present, and future for an essential cause\u201d featured dozens of hit songs and beloved covers by Rucker as well as his surprise guests Ingrid Andress, Dan + Shay, Jamey Johnson, Chase Matthew and Shane Profitt.<\/p>\n
