World Ski Awards \u2013 the global initiative to recognize and reward excellence in ski tourism \u2013 has unveiled the winners of its 2020 program to coincide with its inaugural World Ski Awards Winners Day.<\/strong><\/p>\n Winners include Europe\u2019s highest ski resort, Val Thorens<\/strong>, voted \u2018World\u2019s Best Ski Resort<\/strong>\u2019, thanks to its winning combination of snowsure pistes and extensive slopeside accommodation.<\/p>\n Sleek urban design amid a spectacular alpine helped Switzerland\u2019s W Verbier<\/strong> capture \u2018World\u2019s Best Ski Hotel\u2019.<\/strong><\/p>\n Whilst Chalet Zermatt Peak<\/strong>, sitting in the shadow of the majestic Matterhorn, claimed \u2018World\u2019s Best Ski Chalet\u2019.<\/strong><\/p>\n New arrival on Japan\u2019s luxury ski hospitality scene, Park Hyatt Niseko Hanazono<\/strong>, took \u2018World\u2019s Best New Ski Hotel<\/strong>\u2019.<\/p>\n Meanwhile the divine opulence of Verbier\u2019s Chalet Marmotti\u00e8re<\/strong> was acknowledged with the newcomer accolade for \u2018World\u2019s Best New Ski Chalet<\/strong>\u2019.<\/p>\n Switzerland\u2019s LAAX, home to deep powder and the world\u2019s biggest halfpipe, was named \u2018World\u2019s Best Freestyle Resort<\/strong>\u2019.<\/p>\n Ski Dubai<\/strong> picked up \u2018World\u2019s Best Indoor Ski Resort<\/strong>\u2019 and Austria\u2019s sumptuous Aurelio Lech<\/strong> collected \u2018World\u2019s Best Ski Boutique Hotel\u2019.<\/strong><\/p>\n The results follow a year-long search for the world\u2019s leading ski travel, tourism and hospitality brands. Votes were cast by ski industry professionals<\/strong> and ski consumers, with the nominee gaining the most votes in a category named the winner.<\/p>\n Sion Rapson, Managing Director, World Ski Awards, says:<\/p>\n \u201cOur winners represent the very best<\/p>\n of the global ski travel and tourism sector and my congratulations to each of them.<\/p>\n They have all demonstrated remarkable resilience in a year of unprecedented challenges.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n Rapson continues:<\/p>\n \u201cThe World Ski Awards 2020 program received a record number of votes cast by the public.<\/p>\n This shows that…<\/p>\n the appetite for booking a ski holiday has never been stronger<\/strong><\/p>\n …and bodes well for the industry as the global recovery begins.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n Triumphant ski travel providers include Leo Trippi (\u2018World\u2019s Best Ski Travel Agent\u2019); TUI (\u2018World\u2019s Best Ski Tour Operator\u2019); and Schneebeben (\u2018World\u2019s Best Ski Transfer Operator\u2019).<\/p>\n Other winners include Bergbahn AG Kitzb\u00fchel<\/strong> (\u2018World\u2019s Best Ski Resort Company); Valsana Hotel & Appartements<\/strong>, Switzerland (\u2018World\u2019s Best Green Ski Hotel\u2019); and Bella Coola Heli Sports<\/strong>, Canada (\u2018World\u2019s Best Heli-Ski Operator\u2019).<\/p>\n Awards were also announced on a country-level, with the best resorts and hospitality providers from the world\u2019s leading ski tourism destinations.<\/p>\n
