Just minutes from the glitz and glamour of The Las Vegas Strip you will discover a\u00a0mysterious black box called<\/p>\n
Thursday at 6 p.m. the\u00a0bunker-looking entertainment complex opens to the public for the first time.<\/p>\n
A very unique collaborative venture between real estate development firm Fisher Brothers<\/strong> and creative agency Beneville Studios<\/strong>,<\/p>\n You enter for free, but you’ll have to pay for any experiences you want to have.<\/p>\n Inside features include a 23-foot Japanese maple tree<\/strong> and a canopy\u00a0of 5,000 twinkling LED lights,\u00a0<\/strong>virtual reality simulation<\/strong> that mimics what it\u2019s like to be a bird.<\/p>\n So far there are art installations, retail, bars, eateries and more.<\/p>\n “We call it an ‘experience box’ ” Winston\u00a0Fisher, CEO of\u00a0AREA15,\u00a0told the USA TODAY Network.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n Here’s a sneak peak inside:<\/p>\n Art Island:<\/strong>\u00a0A gallery for the exhibition of large-format,\u00a0festival-inspired artwork.<\/p>\n Birdly Virtual Reality Experience: “<\/strong>Birdly” mimics what it’s like to be a bird. Guests feel the wind beneath their wings and get a bird’s eye view of what it’s like fly through the skies of New York, Singapore and\u00a0prehistoric worlds. Cost: $13.25, adults.\u00a0$10.25, 12 and under. $12, ages 65+.<\/p>\n Emack & Bolios:<\/strong>\u00a0A Boston-based shop serving ice cream, yogurt, homemade fudge and chocolate, micro-brewed sodas and more.<\/p>\n Gallerie 360 inside The Portal:\u00a0<\/strong>An immersive\u00a0audio and visual experience featuring the work of digital artists. Cost: To be determined, but\u00a0free opening on weekend.<\/p>\n Haley\u2019s Comet:\u00a0<\/strong>The first indoor, electric dual-track suspension ride in the United States.\u00a0The glider-ride pits\u00a0two guests\u00a0against each\u00a0other in a race at 8 mph.\u00a0Cost:<\/strong>\u00a0$18, adults. $12, ages 12 and under. $16, ages 65+.<\/p>\n Oddwood:<\/strong>\u00a0At the heart of Oddwood is a nearly 23-foot-high Japanese maple tree and a\u00a028-by-17-foot canopy of more\u00a0than 5,000 twinkling LED lights.<\/p>\n Sanctuary\u00a0by Ibuku Design Studio:\u00a0<\/strong>This rest spot is made of bamboo\u00a0from the islands of Bali and Java.<\/p>\n Shogyo Mujo\u00a0by Bart Kresa Studio and Joshua Harker:<\/strong>\u00a0An interactive, 12-foot tall skull covered in 3D projection mapping and synched to music.<\/p>\n The Beast Pop-up Food Experience:\u00a0<\/strong>AREA15\u2019s outdoor event space\u00a0will be transformed into this outdoor dining experience.<\/p>\n The SPINE:\u00a0<\/strong>Described as AREA15’s “backbone,” The Spine is a corridor\u00a0art installations, retail, food and beverage offerings.<\/p>\n Valyrian Steel\u00a0by Henry Chang Design:<\/strong>\u00a0A\u00a0kinetic art car that is “part Mad Max, part Mars Rover.”<\/p>\n Wild Muse Boutique:\u00a0<\/strong>A retail bazaar inside The SPINE stocked with handcrafted, sustainable apparel, accessories, art, and eco-friendly health and wellness products from both local and international\u00a0makers.<\/p>\n More installments are coming to AREA15 in the upcoming months, including:<\/p>\nAREA15\u00a0is described as an experience mall<\/h3>\n
