class=\"paragraph\"><span class=\"normaltextrun\">Interim City Manager and Director of Emergency Services <strong>Lane\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><span class=\"spellingerror\"><strong>Dilg<\/strong>:<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"paragraph\"><span class=\"normaltextrun\">\u201cFace coverings are essential.\u00a0 I encourage everyone to try different styles to find what works for you&#8230;\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph\"><span class=\"normaltextrun\">&#8230;But it is a critical time to save lives by wearing face coverings whenever we are outside of our homes and not gathering with people outside of our households.\u201d<\/span><span class=\"eop\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p class=\"paragraph\"><span class=\"normaltextrun\">Businesses can\u00a0<strong>refuse service to any person who\u00a0does not\u00a0wear a face covering<\/strong> or fails to comply with social class=\"normaltextrun\">Businesses must also take\u00a0all reasonable steps to ensure those in line or entering their business\u00a0wear face coverings and comply with physical\u00a0distancing\u00a0requirements.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><em>Advertisement<\/em><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.wynnlasvegas.com\/\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-20417\" src=\"https:\/\/dailyovation.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/Screen-Shot-2020-06-08-at-1.46.13-AM.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"302\" height=\"250\" srcset=\"https:\/\/dailyovation.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/Screen-Shot-2020-06-08-at-1.46.13-AM.png 302w, https:\/\/dailyovation.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/Screen-Shot-2020-06-08-at-1.46.13-AM-300x248.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 302px) 100vw, 302px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p class=\"paragraph\"><span class=\"normaltextrun\">$100 for a first violation, $250 for a second violation, and $500 for a third violation.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph\"><span class=\"normaltextrun\">For businesses,\u00a0the administrative citations are $500 for a first violation, $750 for a second violation, and $1,000 for a third violation.\u00a0 \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph\"><span class=\"normaltextrun\">The face-covering requirements:<\/span><span class=\"eop\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li class=\"paragraph\"><span class=\"normaltextrun\">When individuals are or can be in contact with or walking near or past others who are non-household members in both public and private spaces, including, but not limited to, walking through common areas such as hallways, stairways, elevators, and parking facilities, meaning that\u00a0a face covering\u00a0must be visible and ready to be immediately put on\u00a0whenever a moving person approaches within 30 feet of a non-household member;\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"eop\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"paragraph\"><span class=\"normaltextrun\">When patronizing a business, including while standing in line to enter any business<\/span><span class=\"normaltextrun\">\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"eop\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"paragraph\"><span class=\"normaltextrun\">When obtaining services from healthcare operations, unless otherwise directed by the healthcare provider;<\/span><span class=\"eop\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"paragraph\"><span class=\"normaltextrun\">When obtaining services from and while inside or at any location or facility engaging in essential government functions;\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"eop\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"paragraph\"><span class=\"normaltextrun\">When waiting for or riding on public transportation or paratransit or while in a taxi, private car service, or ride-sharing vehicle;<\/span><span class=\"eop\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"paragraph\"><span class=\"normaltextrun\">When driving or operating any public transportation or paratransit vehicle, taxi, or private car service or ride-sharing vehicle when passengers are present;\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"eop\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"paragraph\"><span class=\"normaltextrun\">When participating in an in-person protest; and\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"eop\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"paragraph\"><span class=\"normaltextrun\">When engaged in work, either at a business or off-site (other than at one\u2019s own residence) and (<\/span><span class=\"spellingerror\">i<\/span><span class=\"normaltextrun\">) interacting in-person with any member of the public; (ii) working in any space visited by members of the public, regardless of whether anyone from the public is present at the time; (iii) working in any space where food is prepared or packaged for sale or distribution to others; (iv) working in or walking through common areas, such as hallways, stairways, elevators, and parking facilities; or (v) in any room or enclosed area where people who are non-household members are present and unable to maintain a minimum six-foot separation from one another.<\/span><span class=\"eop\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-20577\" src=\"https:\/\/dailyovation.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/Screen-Shot-2020-07-02-at-7.20.43-PM.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"558\" height=\"386\" srcset=\"https:\/\/dailyovation.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/Screen-Shot-2020-07-02-at-7.20.43-PM.png 558w, https:\/\/dailyovation.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/Screen-Shot-2020-07-02-at-7.20.43-PM-300x208.png 300w, https:\/\/dailyovation.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/Screen-Shot-2020-07-02-at-7.20.43-PM-218x150.png 218w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 558px) 100vw, 558px\" \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph\"><span class=\"normaltextrun\">Exemptions from the face-covering requirement apply to the following:<\/span><span class=\"eop\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li class=\"paragraph\"><span class=\"normaltextrun\">Persons\u00a0younger than two years old;\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"eop\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"paragraph\"><span class=\"normaltextrun\">Persons\u00a0with a medical condition, mental health condition, or disability that prevents wearing a face covering;<\/span><span class=\"eop\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"paragraph\"><span class=\"normaltextrun\">Persons\u00a0who are hearing impaired, or communicating with a person who is hearing impaired, where the ability to see the mouth is essential for communication;\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"eop\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"paragraph\"><span class=\"normaltextrun\">Persons\u00a0for whom wearing a face covering would create a risk to the person related to their work, as determined by local, state, or federal regulators or workplace safety guidelines;\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"eop\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"paragraph\"><span class=\"normaltextrun\">Persons\u00a0who are obtaining a service involving the nose or face for which temporary removal of the face covering is necessary to perform the service;\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"eop\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"paragraph\"><span class=\"normaltextrun\">Persons\u00a0who are (<\/span><span class=\"spellingerror\">i<\/span><span class=\"normaltextrun\">) outdoors alone or with household members; (ii) stationary; and (iii) maintaining at least six feet between the edge of the area they are in and the edge of the next closest person\u2019s area;\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"eop\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"paragraph\"><span class=\"normaltextrun\">Persons\u00a0who are actively engaged in a water-based activity, including, but not limited to, swimming and surfing.<\/span><span class=\"eop\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"paragraph\"><span class=\"normaltextrun\">Persons\u00a0compliant with the County Department of Health\u2019s Protocol for Restaurants Opening for On-Site Dining under which customers who are seated at a restaurant or other establishment that offers food or beverage service are not required to wear face coverings while they are eating or drinking;\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"eop\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"paragraph\"><span class=\"normaltextrun\">Persons\u00a0wearing personal protective equipment (\u201cPPE\u201d), such as medical-grade N95 respirator or a similar mask that is more protective than a face covering;\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"eop\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"paragraph\"><span class=\"normaltextrun\">Persons\u00a0compliant with any other reopening protocol issued by the County Department of Health authorizing persons to remove their face coverings.<\/span><span class=\"eop\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"paragraph\"><span class=\"normaltextrun\">Santa Monica\u2019s\u00a0order is in effect until July 31, 2020.<\/span><span class=\"eop\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"paragraph\"><span class=\"normaltextrun\">Santa Monica residents\u00a0and businesses\u00a0can pick up\u00a0<strong>free\u00a0lawn signs<\/strong> and <strong>retail\u00a0signage<\/strong> to help inform friends, neighbors and customers.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><em>Advertisement<\/em><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/2BXAsjM\"><img Wednesdays, 8 a.m.-1p.m.)\u00a0or the <strong>Main Street Visitor Information Center<\/strong> located at 2427 Main Street (Wednesday \u2013 Sunday, 11 a.m. \u2013 4 p.m.).<\/span><span class=\"eop\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph\"><span class=\"normaltextrun\"><strong>Governor Gavin Newsom<\/strong>\u00a0announced the closure of indoor dining and indoor entertainment, including museums, aquariums, wine tasting rooms, and more across Los Angeles\u00a0County\u00a0and other\u00a0counties\u00a0highly impacted\u00a0by COVID-19. <\/span><\/p>\n<p
