Disney on Friday at D23<\/strong> unveiled the first official trailer for The Mandalorian<\/strong>, the Star Wars galaxy\u2019s first live-action TV series, a marquee title for Disney+, the streaming service that launches in November.<\/p>\n

The trailer footage confirms the concept of the series \u2014 from creative team Jon Favreau<\/strong> and Dave Filoni<\/strong>, \u2014 a gunslinger odyssey with Old West and sci-fi tones. Pedro Pascal<\/strong> stars as the bounty hunter and gunfighter and native of Mandalore, the Star Wars universe home planet of bounty hunter Boba Fett and Jango Fett.<\/p>\n

The events depicted in the series are set after the events of Return of the Jedi, which concluded with the death of Darth Vader on Endor. Gina Carano<\/strong>, Carl Weathers<\/strong>, Giancarlo Esposito<\/strong>, Emily Swallow<\/strong>, Omid Abtahi<\/strong>, Werner Herzog<\/strong> and Nick Nolte<\/strong> also star.<\/p>\n

Favreau wrote and is executive producer, while Star Wars universe regular Filoni directed the first episode executive produces alongside Kathleen Kennedy<\/strong> and Colin Wilson<\/strong>. Taika Waititi<\/strong>, Bryce Dallas Howard<\/strong>, Deborah Chow<\/strong> and Rick Famuyiwa<\/strong> have also directed episodes.<\/p>\n
