The Annual CLARE|MATRIX Tribute Dinner<\/strong> honored\u00a0the Emmy and Oscar Awarded Star,\u00a0Allison Janney<\/span>,<\/b>\u00a0of the stellar comedy ensemble, MOM,\u00a0on\u00a0Thursday, November 15<\/span>th<\/sup>\u00a0at Fairmont Miramar Hotel and Bungalows in\u00a0Santa Monica<\/span>. Because of the show, there is a greater understanding of the need for compassionate treatment for those who make the brave choice to seek help and continue their journey after treatment.<\/p>\n The event raised\u00a0$500,000<\/span>\u00a0for programs providing affordable treatment for alcoholism, substance abuse and behavioral health.<\/p>\n Opening the awards ceremony was a live musical performance by\u00a0the Santa Monica High School Choir<\/strong>. The gala gathered more than 380 guests including Chuck Lorre<\/strong>,\u00a0Gemma Baker<\/span><\/strong>, and cast and writers of the show MOM,\u00a0Mimi Kennedy<\/span>,\u00a0Larry Dilg<\/span>,\u00a0Beth Hall<\/span>,\u00a0Warren Bell<\/span>,\u00a0Bob Broder<\/span><\/strong>, and\u00a0Anne Flett Giordano<\/span><\/strong>.<\/p>\n “In merging CLARE Foundation and MATRIX Institute on Addictions, we have leveraged our combined 85 years of experience in the prevention, education, and treatment of substance use and co-occurring disorders,” said CLARE|MATRIX CEO, Dr.\u00a0Lisa Steele<\/span>. “Our commitment to saving lives through recovery can now reach more people and more communities.”<\/p>\n The auction provided donors an opportunity to save lives through the entire continuum of care \u2013 from admission to aftercare \u2013 and individual services such as detoxification, residential and outpatient treatment, behavioral health and sober living.<\/p>\n Allison Janney<\/span>\u00a0was presented with the CLARE|MATRIX Tribute Award for her portrayal of the character Bonnie on the show, MOM. “Because of the show, the people I’ve met and nights like tonight, I’ve gotten to see over and over again that recovery works,” said Janney. “Unfortunately, there are many obstacles besides just the disease that prevent people from experiencing it.
