Diageo, a global leader in beverage alcohol, honored spirits distributors at the 15th<\/sup>\u00a0Annual Golden Bar Awards, which took place this week in\u00a0Las Vegas<\/span>. The Golden Bar Awards are presented to distributors demonstrating excellence in sales, marketing and promoting responsible drinking.<\/p>\n

“All year long our distributors work hard on behalf of our fantastic brands, and the Golden Bar Awards are a way for us to acknowledge their work and show our appreciation,” said\u00a0Claudia Schubert<\/span>, President, US Spirits and\u00a0Canada<\/span>, Diageo North America.\u00a0“Diageo’s U.S. Spirits business delivered another year of consistent sales growth at three percent, while gaining share in a number of key brand categories, so the Golden Bars are a time to celebrate success, and also look to the year ahead on how we will work together to help our brands continue to grow.”<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The Golden Bar Awards celebrate distributors across the U.S. for their excellence in the industry and the important role they play in their respective communities.\u00a0Awards are given in seven categories including On Premise Performance, Innovation, Brand Excellence, and Distributor of the Year. A special Platinum Bar Award is awarded to a spirits distributor who demonstrates significant commitment to responsible drinking.<\/p>\n

In total, 16 Golden Bar statuettes, 15 made of gold and one of platinum, were awarded to spirits distributors. Each statuette weighs eight pounds, stands more than a foot tall, and is produced by Society Awards, the company that produces The Emmy’s\u00ae, presented by the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.<\/p>\n

Diageo will present Golden Bar Awards for beer distributors at a separate event in September.\u00a0 Below are the categories and winners for the 2018 Golden Bar Awards for spirits.<\/p>\n
