Celebrating National Barbecue Month, the newly opening Pearl’s BBQ in Downtown Los Angeles kicks-off the beginning of summer with a four-day Memorial Day celebration featuring live music, cold beer, and the best barbecue West of Texas from Friday, May 25th, 2018 through Monday, May 28th, 2018!

Pearl’s BBQ Head Cowboy and Pitmaster Dana Blanchard knows great barbecue does not need an introduction. His Texas roots run deep and so does his knowledge of well-cooked smoked brisket, so it wasn’t until two years ago, upon returning to Los Angeles from a routine trip to Texas, that Blanchard realized how hard it was to find excellent Texas barbecue in Southern California. Determined to serve the best barbecue L.A. has ever tasted, it was in that very moment that Blanchard began to blaze his own trail in Los Angeles and Pearl’s BBQ was born.

Named after his grandmother, Pearl’s BBQ may not have white linen table cloths or an extensive wine list, but who needs formality when you have hot smoked brisket, ice-cold beer, and live music, all served with the warm Southern charm you would expect in the South.

Located in the heart of the L.A. Arts District in Downtown Los Angeles, Pearl’s BBQ is a southern escape from the hustle and bustle. Large picnic tables sprawl the sandy, shaded outdoor building with the Texas flag hanging above the smoker and directly across is the retro Airstream is where guests can find Head Pearl’s Girl Suzy Primoracinside serving barbecue with a warm welcome and a smile, all while the sounds of icons like Johnny Cash and Alan Jackson play in the background.

The key to good ‘ole barbecue is shrouded in mystery, requiring patience, time, and a stubborn streak long enough to last until it is just right. But, living by the motto “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it,” Blanchard knew that there was no need to reinvent the wheel. Armed with a handcrafted Texas smoker, plenty of white oak, C.A.B. Certified Angus Beef, and training from the best pit masters in Texas, Blanchard continues to consistently serve the best barbecue in L.A. since Pearl’s BBQ first opened last November.

Of course, none of this would be possible without secret spices passed down from Grandma Pearl herself, and after nearly 16 hours in the smoker, the Brisket is ready to be enjoyed alongside some homemade sides like the Baked Beans, Coleslaw with house-made mayo, and creamy Potato Salad.

The Beef Short Ribs served by the pound and smoked for nearly 12 hours are well worth the wait and a must at Pearl’s, and if the barbecue alone does not have you falling head over your boots, a slice of freshly made Pearl’s Apple or Pecan Pie, created from a recipe that has been handed down for over five generations, is sure to do the trick. Then, be sure to wash it all down with a refreshing beverage like Topo-Chico Mineral Water, Nesbitt’s Honey Lemonade, Big Red Soda or a Mexican Coco Cola.

There is no shortage of hospitality or seating at Pearl’s BBQ, making it easy to enjoy a lazy day with friends and family, and with Memorial Day Weekend falling in National Barbecue Month, Pearl’s Memorial Day Picnic BBQ is going to be a weekend full of festivities and barbecue you won’t want to miss.

This exciting new addition in DTLA will give you the perfect bite out of Texas that you didn’t even know you were looking for, so come celebrate National Barbecue Month and Memorial Day Weekend at Pearl’s BBQ!

Ticket Information: The Pearl’s Memorial Day Picnic BBQ will take place from Friday, May 25th, 2018 through Monday, May 28th, 2018from 12:00 pm to 10:00 pm on Friday, May 25th, Saturday, May 26th and Sunday, May 27th, 2018, and from 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Memorial Day, Monday, May 28th, 2018.
