(PRNewsfoto\/National Restaurant Association)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Approximately 87 million adults will go out to a restaurant for a special Mother&#8217;s Day meal this year, according to new research from the National Restaurant Association.<\/p>\n<p>Our research found that on\u00a0<span class=\"xn-chron\">Sunday, May 13<\/span>, 34 percent of all adults plan to celebrate Mother&#8217;s Day by dining out at a restaurant. Of that number, nearly half are going out for dinner, making it the day&#8217;s most popular meal. Thirty-five percent of adults plan on taking their moms to lunch and 24 percent anticipate dining out for brunch. Here&#8217;s what they said:<\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li><b>47 percent<\/b>\u00a0want a restaurant meal with family<\/li>\n<li><b>15 percent<\/b>\u00a0picked flowers as their preferred gift<\/li>\n<li><b>11 percent<\/b>\u00a0requested household or home d\u00e9cor items<\/li>\n<li><b>10 percent<\/b>\u00a0chose a restaurant gift card<\/li>\n<li><b>9 percent<\/b>\u00a0selected jewelry, and<\/li>\n<li><b>8 percent<\/b>\u00a0wanted to receive clothing or accessories<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>ORC International conducted the online survey of 1006 adults\u00a0<span class=\"xn-chron\">May 3-6, 2018<\/span>, on behalf of the National Restaurant Association.
