Alison Sweeney To Topline New Hallmark Movie Franchise ‘The Chronicle Mysteries’

Alison Sweeney, who toplined the Murder She Baked franchise for Hallmark, is returning with a new movie franchise. Hallmark Movies & Mysteries has ordered The Chronicle Mysteries from Sweeney, with the Days Of Our Lives alum attached to star and executive produce.

Written by Melissa Salmons, The Chronicle Mysteries stars Sweeney as Roberta “Robbie” McPherson a novelist and podcaster who’s researching the cold case of Gina DeSavio. Robbie loves the chase, loves solving any puzzle or mystery.

She is particularly interested in Gina’s disappearance because she and Gina knew each other growing up together in a small town. Salmons, who first worked with Sweeney atDays of our Lives and wrote several of her projects from Crown Media Family Networks, will write the movies. Salmons will executive produce with Sweeney and Craig Baumgarten (Shattered Glass) of Zero Gravity Management.

Sweeney is known for her role as Sami Brady on NBC’s long-running daytime drama Days of Our Lives. She previously starred in and executive produced the Murder She Baked franchise of movies Love on the Air, The Irresistible Blueberry Farm and Christmas at Holly Lodge for Hallmark Movies & Mysteries.
