Jeremy Beth Michaels’ Pre-Holiday Party Prepping

Yesterday, I was at work when I heard Mariah Carey’s remake of “All I Want For Christmas Is You.” Ummm. AYFKM (are you f-ing kidding me)? It’s not even Thanksgiving yet. I know when I hear that song, it’s too late, and the holiday season has officially landed. Ho-Ho-whatever.

Can’t I just enjoy the fact that Halloween just ended and there was a slight calm before the storm? No? Ok, just thought I’d ask. Even this am, having my morning coffee, I get a message from Pandora that the Christmas tunes are now available. Make it stop! I still have a Monster Mash earworm going.

So, the inevitable stress of the fast approaching holidays sets in. Are you ready for all the festive party invites and family commitments that are about to roll in? Me either. Luckily, I have some pre-party beauty favorites that snap me in the gleeful spirit and help me look gorgeous too.

I usually wouldn’t give away my coveted beauty secrets like this but they are just too good to keep to myself.

One of my favorite products out there right now, are these fabulous hand-made body scrubs by Sugar Dynamite. If you haven’t heard of it, check it out!  Aside from having the sexiest and most scrumptious scents around like Black Amber Lavender (my current favorite) and Honey Almond, there are some limited additions for the season like Ice Cinnamon Rolls, Candied Apple, and Vanilla Snowflake. I swear to god, this was the first and only time I actually considered sleeping with an inanimate object. They are that good. Seriously.

There’s a wide selection of scents on the site and they range from $20-$24 for full sizes. These generously sized tubs help exfoliate, polish and soften your skin like you wouldn’t believe and best thing is they don’t break the bank. Plus you smell edible. Once you’re out in public you’ll be saying “No, Sir that is my shoulder, not a cinnamon roll!” Please step away.

After I finish my scrub down party of one, I make sure I have a little down time, to do a facial mask. I like to do treatments that help brighten and give my skin that radiant-party glow. I just got gifted this wonderful mask by Tata Harper called the Resurfacing Mask and this thing is chocked full with amazing skin-loving ingredients like Pomegranate enzymes and Beet extracts that help brighten the skin. Along with Willow Bark, which is a natural source of beta-hydroxy acid, this ingredient sloughs off any dead skin and increases cellular turnover. This enables your skin look incredibly vibrant and ready for any upcoming engagement that is thrown your way. You’d kinda be an idiot not to pick up some of this stuff up, just sayin’. Another bonus is this line is vegan if you’re into that sort of thing and also won the 2017 Allure Best Of Beauty Award. Even hippies get it right sometimes. I’m kidding. It’s amazing.

When a big night is slated on the books, I’ll include some sort of eye treatment. The one I just can’t get enough of comes from Peter Thomas Roth Clinical Skin Care. Their Cucumber De-Tox Hydra Gel Eye Patches are legit. Try saying that five times fast. I honestly can’t, but these things, man oh man. I have never seen quicker results. I have hereditary dark circles, thanks, mom and dad! And to make matters worse, I don’t really sleep. Work-life balance, what’s that?

So these things are just what the Dr. ordered. Especially, when you need a fast and effective pick-me-up before a big night out. You can put these little patches of awesome on while you’re doing your mask for the ultimate multi-tasking treatment. For best results leave them on for 20 minutes. Once you take them off the under eye area is visibly brighter, tighter and more hydrated. What I like most about this product is that they contain Hyaluronic acid for hydration; Arnica to brighten and Cucumber extract to de-puff. There are two ways you to position these under your eyes so that you can focus on whatever your eye calamity is, perhaps fine lines and crows-feet are your concern or maybe puffiness and darkness, whichever way you choose you’ll be hooked and your eyes will look dazzling. You’ll feel revitalized and for only $48 bucks you get 30 treatments. Turn around bright eyes!

Even if you don’t feel like you’re in that holiday spirit just yet you can do any one of these decadent treatments anytime to look and feel stunning and party ready.

And just to make sure you’re annoyed too, I thought I’d leave you with this. Happy Holidays hella early! Don’t hate me. I had to.
