Art is a form of expression, creativity, imagination, and storytelling that can be perceived in varying perspectives by each individual who absorbs it. One subject matter can appeal to audiences in different ways and leave diverse impressions. Art is powerful, timeless, and inspiring.
LUMAS has taken a new approach in collecting art by introducing the world of art photography. Founded by Stefanie Harig and Marc Ullrich, LUMAS has a rich portfolio presenting the work of about two hundred established artists along with exciting up-and-comers. They offer selected pieces as hand-signed original photographs typically in limited edition quantities ranging from seventy-five to one hundred fifty prints rather than only five prints, which is the standard in the art market.
One of the most successful exhibitions in LUMAS history has been “Don’t Stop The Music” featuring the work of artists André Monet and Ralph Ueltzhoeffer. Monet is a Canadian artist who studied graphic design. He covers his canvas with a collage of newspapers and magazines then paints photorealistic portraits of iconic musicians including David Bowie, Mick Jagger, Amy Winehouse, Jay-Z, and Rihanna. Ueltzhoeffer, a German artist, is best known for his unique style of art he calls “text portraits”. He searches the internet for the most widespread information about a particular star. He then combines the text about that person with images to create art that literally tells a story on the surface about musicians and public figures such as Jim Morrison, Jimi Hendrix, John Lennon, David Beckham, and Angelina Jolie just to name a few.
For those who would like to give the gift of art, LUMAS has a great collection of Art Now photos that make a fantastic gift. They are approximately 5 x 7 inches in size and have a hook, magnet, and a stand to allow multiple display options. You can have these photos and a hand written note sent directly to a recipient with the ready-to-mail packaging. The Art Now series has many fun photos varying from Star Wars characters to musicians such as The Doors, Mick Jagger, and The Beatles, to animals, lego characters, and more.
Art is a gift. Create to inspire. Inspire to create.
