HBO Now, which launched in April on the Apple iOS platform, Dish Network’s Sling TV and Cablevision’s Optimum broadband network, affords $15 monthly subscribers standalone access to HBO movies, specials and original programming, including “Game of Thrones” and “True Detective.”

At the I/O conference May 28, Sundar Pichai, SVP of products at Google, first announced that HBO Now would come to Android this summer along with Cast support for Android, iOS, and Web browsers on desktops/laptop computers. Google also announced that it would bring HBO Now and HBO Go to Android TV.

“We’re looking forward to expanding our relationship with Google through HBO Now. We have seen through social media that there is great demand for the service among Android and Chromecast users and we’re excited to deliver HBO Now to them,” Bernadette Aulestia, EVP of domestic network distribution for HBO
