Chef Serena grew up in a small, but loving Pasadena home.  Surrounded by family members who cook, it seems all gatherings took place in the kitchen while laughter, stories and conversation came out as everyone was stirring, whisking, cutting, preparing the meals of the day.  To this day, Serena equates food with family and her message spreads with each meal she serves her clients as if they are family members.

I always say food is comfort and food is love. It’s something so basic for us.  That’s why we have the term ‘comfort food’.  Chef Serena explains that everything we put into our body affects both the inside and outside of us.  How our body operates, as well as how our body looks.  Her goal is to bring comfort and love to your body through food’s nutrition and flavor.

Unfortunately, too many people take food (and especially nutrition) for granted.  As Chef Serena learned first hand when some of her family members became very ill, ability to eat is one of the first activities to become difficult.  “One of the hardest things to do is to just eat and get enough of the necessary nutrients.  When someone becomes sick they deal with so many dietary limitations.”

Dealing with family who had such dietary difficulty inspired Chef Serena to champion the idea of “being healthy from the inside out.”   She hopes the lifestyle she encourages and the food she creates for herself and her clients is able to “fix a problem that hasn’t even started yet.”
