Downtown LA gets funny, Mas Malo pours ‘La Vida Joqua’ June 28

Downtown Los Angeles’ Restaurant Row gets a dose of the funny June 28 courtesy of legendary laffers Chelsea Lately, The Tonight Show and Comedy Central.  Contributors from these comedy canons combine to deliver a powerful punch premiere night at Mas Malo.

Mas Malo, the highly anticipated sequel to popular Silver Lake restaurant, Malo, opened its doors in early 2011. Set on downtown LA’s rapidly expanding “Restaurant Row” at 7th and Grand Streets, area locals can now enjoy Chef Robert Luna’s take on east LA style Chicano food that Eastsiders have raved about for years. On June 28, Mas Malo builds upon its own success to include a regular comedy show La Vida Joqua (pronounced joke-uh).

The show’s comics include Christina Pazsitzky and Shawn Pelofsky of Chelsea LatelyJamie Kaler of My Boys and Robot Chicken, comedy club vets Nico Santos, Jackie Kashian, Kevin Avery and hosts Tonight Show contributor Jeremy Beth Michaels and Producer of Pajama Party Adam Gropman.

Mas Malo features a range of classic and unique dishes, exceptional cocktails and an extensive tequila and mezcal collection. To celebrate the premiere of La Vida Loqua; Mas Malo offers a special food and tequila menu.
