We’re being hard on Nicolas Cage again. Why? Because other than Cuba Gooding, Jr who else messes up their post-Oscar plans so dramatically? Well, the Leaving Las Vegas and Kick-Ass star is back. This time with long locks and stoicly saying things like “evil”, “spirits” and “chosen one.” Normally, I’d rely on producer Jerry Bruckheimer to keep things moving forward, but lately that’s a tall order for him as well. Disney presents The Sorcerer’s Apprentice remake starring The Mac Guy Justin Long. Whoops. I mean the She’s Out of My League guy Jay Baruchel.
Why does it stand a chance?
If there is one reason. And it’s barely that. It’s Alfred Molina. I hope he bought a castle in Ireland with the paycheck he received here. He’ll need to hide out there for the next six months purging from the bad haircut, gruesome wardrobe and slithering dialogue. Or maybe he looks at his children, smiles realizing he just paid for their education…and that’s okay for him.
