First Annual ‘Nights Of The Jack’ in Calabasas, CA: A Halloween Jack O’Lantern Experience

Halloween gets even bigger this year as Calabasas’ ‘Nights of the Jack’ event gets Los Angeles families in a frightfully-fun mood.

Very excited by the team behind the event, television production and event industry veterans Ben BiscottiTony Schubert and Bobby Rossi have come together to provide Angelenos with one Halloween experience they won’t want to miss.

Taking place in Calabasas this October, the greater Los Angeles area will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in a Halloween wonderland filled with thousands of hand-carved Jack O’ Lanterns.

Legend has it that in 1824, at the top of the Calabasas grade on the original El Camino Real, a rancher from Oxnard spilled a wagonload of pumpkins while en route to Los Angeles. Sometime later, hundreds of pumpkin seeds sprouted alongside the road. As a result of the surprising event, the area was dubbed Las Calabasas—”the place where the pumpkins fell.” Nights of The Jack, a must-see Halloween experience will delight visitors of all ages by bringing thousands of one-of-a-kind hand-carved pumpkins to life at King Gillette Ranch.

Nights Of The Jack will be more than your traditional Halloween attraction. Vast grounds of intricately hand-carved and illuminated pumpkins will welcome visitors as they make their way through the half-mile trail around the ranch and will be open to enchant Los Angeles residents and tourists alike all month long.

Over 20 themed installations will be showcased thanks to thousands of hand-carving hours; including, a Land of Dinosaurs that will spotlight a massive Brontosaurus, an enormous T-Rex, a Triceratops that you won’t want to miss, and more.

The Under the Sea installation will be complete with sharks, turtles, jellyfish and other sea creatures for everyone to enjoy.

Other theme installations will include fairy tale characters, sports legends, Halloween classics and of course, no Los Angeles celebration would be complete without a treasure trove of celebrity themed jack o’ lanterns spanning the generations. The event will be open for over 20 select nights with various ticketed time slots, attendees are encouraged to visit the site immediately to purchase tickets for the season taking place October 11th through November 4th.

Master Carver Billy Bywater stated, “I’m very excited to unveil Nights Of The Jack for all of Los Angelesto enjoy. It has been an amazing show to create and probably our best work yet! I hope visitors enjoy the creations that we have brought to life exclusively for this Halloween season.”

The grounds will also feature additional surprises from live carvers, a pumpkin patch, themed gift shop, seasonal food, beverages and more.

“We are thrilled to launch the inaugural Nights of the Jack this year in Calabasas,” said the Nights of the Jack founding team comprised of Ben BiscottiTony Schubert and Bobby Rossi in a joint statement. “We look forward to entertaining everyone with an immersive Halloween experience that appeals to families, adults and children of all ages. We intend for this to be a new Halloween tradition in LA for years to come and enjoyed by all,” the entrepreneurs concluded.
