The Foodbank of Santa Barbara County is holding it’s annual fundraiser for people in need of food in Lompoc.
Staff will serve soup in handmade bowls at the Dick Dewees Community Center Wednesday for their Empty Bowls event.
For $25, attendees receive soup, bread, and choose a ceramic bowl to take home.
All of the money raised will go to support food and nutrition education for people facing hunger in the community.
“We just want to make sure there isn’t anyone going without in the Lompoc community. It’s just very important, we are back and forth to Lompoc all the time and we work with a lot of partner agencies in the area to make sure we are getting everything out to the people in need,” said Laurel Alcantar, Santa Barbara County Development Manager.
Last year, the Foodbank provided more than 1.3 million pounds of food and served more than half of residents in Lompoc.
You can buy tickets to the Empty Bowls event at the Foodbank, online, or by calling 805-937-3422 ext.104.
