Every so often, a tale of epic proportions comes along and makes it’s way into the hearts of the masses. A story that becomes cherished by many for decades. An adventure that is loved by the next generation, and the generation after that, and so on. The world was introduced to Star Trek in 1966. It started off as a television series and lasted for 3 seasons with the finale airing in 1969. Decade after decade, this science fiction fantasy has only grown in popularity. The original television series was later remastered then followed by an animated series.
JJ. Abrams brought Star Trek to the big screen in 2009 to much delight and now the earth-shattering film will be screened at the Hollywood Bowl on July 8th and July 9th. The film will be shown on a massive screen in HD as we celebrate the 50th anniversary of Star Trek. Concurrently, with conductor David Newman, the Los Angeles Philharmonic will be playing the marvelous score by Michael Giacchino alongside the film. This will be a phenomenal experience given that it will take place under the stars in Hollywood where the venue and the setting of the film will intertwine and become one. Audiences are sure to be lured in for starship adventures during a phenomenal experience that should not be missed. Watching the exciting action on screen while the strings and percussion of the philharmonic emphasize elements of the film will undoubtedly electrify senses. The acoustics of the philharmonic at the Hollywood Bowl will excellently heighten the ambience of the night.
This year has assorted significance in the world of Star Trek. 2016 marks 50 years of adventures with the crew of the U.S.S Enterprise. Sadly, actor Anton Yelchin who portrayed the character Pavel Chekov tragically passed away in a freak accident. On a lighter note, the film Star Trek Beyond is set to be released on July 22. With the recent loss of a young Star Trek actor and the anticipation of the new upcoming film, Star Trek at the Hollywood Bowl will be a night of remembrance and a night of ascension.
