Project By Project’s 2016 theme has been Announced
Every year Project by Project (PbP) selects a different theme to champion. Local chapters select a community-based non-profit organization that is focused on issues within that theme and tailors a year-long campaign to help its fundraising, community outreach and public awareness efforts.
For 2016, PbP has chosen to partner with organizations addressing the needs the Asian and Pacific Islander (API) Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer (LGBTQ) communities.
This year, we intend to serve a diverse community that has often been placed in the margins of the API community. It is also an opportunity to reflect on the diversity of our own membership and to strive towards improved inclusiveness.
Project by Project is currently in the process of selecting partners for its 2016 collaboration. As part of our vision to empower the Asian American community, Project by Project seeks to partner with dedicated and engaged community organizations interested in building new leaders and impacting communities. Prospective partners should have a commitment to serving and responding to the needs of local API LGBTQ communities. Issue areas include, but are not limited to, mental health, legal assistance, empowerment, family education, homelessness, youth engagement, immigration, domestic violence, and medical services. Community based organizations and grassroots organizations are encouraged to apply. Application forms will be available early 2016.
