Celebrating the worldwide holiday of Chinese New Year (known also as Lunar New Year), ONCEKids Publishing launched their newest book “Rainbow Panda and the Firecracker Fiasco” along with a mom-centric twitter party on February 12, 2013 that attracted thousands of readers and spurred curiosity around the world.
Author Eileen Wacker, creator of the multi-award-winning Fujimini Adventure book series focuses on child literacy and multi-cultural stories. Her progressive vision continues beyond just traditional print books and includes e-books via Amazon’s Kindle, Barnes & Noble’s Nook and Apple’s iPad in addition to apps and animated books.
The February 12 party was a measurable success quickly receiving well over 500 messages from interested mothers during the first of two parties that day. Further conversation ranged from their family, to their childrens’ reading habits, health and fitness, arts and crafts, lifestyle, high-tech family-oriented gadgets.
The party’s sponsors were also a main focus during the event, integrating the brands into the conversations. Page’s Corner offered Story Craft Boxes, which bring interactive craft work into your child’s stories. 24 Hour Fitness extended long-term passes to help keep mothers fit and healthy. Daily Ovation offered top-shelf wine that mothers could enjoy during a much-encouraged Girls Night Out.
The grand prize was a Tablum that elicited excitement from mothers of all ages. The high-tech device includes a Blackberry Playbook that stores digital photos and HD video. This custom made Tablum is perfect keepsake for any family milestone: weddings, birthdays, bar mitsvah, prom.
Overall in a day that included Mardi Gras’ Fat Tuesday, the President’s State of the Union address and California’s fugitive Christopher Dorner stand-off, when ONCEKids’ party trends #7 globally on the world wide web, that makes a good sign for the progressive company and their eager Modern Mom crowd.
