Universal’s ‘Halloween Horror Nights’ returns for Month of Scares

Universal Studios returns with their Horror Nights bringing deafening shrieks and scares to thousands of brave souls.  Mazes, Terror Trams, Shows, Rides and Scare Zones return delivering the first-class frights that both the Studio and the theme park is legendary for…..just in time for Halloween month.  The event runs Friday, Saturday, Sunday nights throughout October.  Tickets and more info here.

Universal Studios revamps their theme park and backlot to create a Halloween experience that makes you laugh, cry and howl.  This year’s mazes include zombie fun of The Walking Dead: Dead Inside, classic horror Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Saw is the Law,  and the crazy spirits of Alice Cooper Goes to Hell 3D.  For fans of the TV show, nothing beats The Walking Dead experience.  Recognize moments from the show as well teasers and hints of what’s coming this season.

Rides and shows are a nice break from running around in mazes.  Revenge of the Mummy – The Ride continues to be a high-speed chase with claustrophobic thrills even more appropriate this time of year.  Jurassic Park – In the Dark is a great idea, but doesn’t attract long lines because it’s a water ride.  Unfortunately a few riders learned October is too cold to get wet.

The best part of the night continues to be the “scare zones” where zombies, maniacs and ghouls wander the property and terrorize unsuspecting horror-seekers.  Every year the ghouls chase after the most daring visitors in the park carousing screams, nervous giggles and heart-attack inducing encounters.

Universal Studios’ 2012 Halloween Horror Nights runs now through October 31, Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights.  Front of Line, VIP and general admission tickets are available here.
