Do you know who Frida Kahlo is? If you don’t, she was an amazing Mexican painter that was known for her very famous uni-brow, as well as her amazing self portraits, now as much as it was a good look on HER, I would never suggest that for any woman nowadays. Well, unless it was for Halloween of course….
Lately I have been noticing tons of women who forget about one crucial part of their overall look and that is your eyebrows. A good brow wax is always good to do but in between them it’s good to have some products that can fake it until your next appointment. Now, I am guilty of this too, but how can we forget that our eyebrows literally frame our lovely faces and pull the entire look into one cohesive beautiful package.
If done correctly and with the right products you can literally shave/tweeze off (pun intended) 5 to 10 years off. Here’s my thought on the matter, if you have unruly brows you start to look unkempt and sloppy and we wouldn’t want that now would we? Think about it like this, you wouldn’t dare leave the house without combing your lovely locks, why would you forget to comb through your brows? I have gone through some of my favorite quick fixes so that you can be ready to go in a jiffy and look polished and put together.
One that I have found is BeneFit’s Brow Zings, what I love about this pocket sized kit is that you get a brow powder, a pigmented wax that holds all those pesky strays in place, and little itsy bitsy tweezers (aren’t they cute?) and a blending brush that can be easily transported in your makeup bag for any woman on the move.
Another favorite of mine is from Smashbox Cosmetics, it comes conveniently in a pen and it is angled for precision and at the bottom there is a soft holding gel that holds your brows gently in place.
Now, there is something I forgot to mention, if you highlight the area right underneath your brow with a pinkish/white-ish shade, and proper blending is applied, you can literally brighten your whole face up and this is where the long work days and lack of sleep just vanish off. The one that is my personal go-to is from YSL. It’s like a nap in a stick. No yawning here, or at least if I do, no one will be able to tell.
Shhhhhhhh. It’s our secret!
